Foam Additive Etching 30ml

During the etching process in alkaline baths (usually NaOH-based), corrosive and irritating fumes are produced due to the strongly exothermic and gas-forming reaction. This additive forms a foam layer on the surface of the etching bath and has the following properties:

• Fine, closed foam layer
• Effectively prevents corrosive and irritating fumes
• Practically suppresses hydrogen explosions
• Impurities (dust, organic material, dirt, etc.) are trapped in the foam and can be easily removed by skimming.
• Promotes a uniform etching process
• Ensures good drainage behavior and prevents spotting when removing parts from the bath
• Extremely efficient – we recommend from 0.05ml(!) per liter. With 30ml additive, you can treat 600 liters of etching bath.

We also recommend this additive for densification baths (seal salt based) to extend bath life and improve drainage behavior.

Important note: This additive is not stable in strongly acidic media – therefore it is not suitable for the anodizing bath (sulfuric acid). Please use our standard Foam Additive for that bath.
